Room for rent in charming residence (grad students only)

My name is Kirk, and I am a 2nd year MFA student and am looking for someone to take over the 2nd bedroom in the apartment. A few things about the apartment and myself.

The apartment:
Terrific location, walking distance to downtown and VT. It...
takes me 7-10mins walking or about 2mins on a bike to get to school. Dt maybe 5. Address is 806 S. Main St.so you can check it out on google maps and its proximity to everything. There are a few other people in adjacent apartments(really just 2 big houses), mostly all grad students, immaculate vibes. We have laundry in the basement (coin) and tons of space in the basement to store things (where I keep my bike). The apartment is on the second floor, it’s a good size, and we have the whole floor to ourselves. The apartment will be furnished enough but room is not. Though there is an extra queen-sized mattress for you to have so you have something to sleep on when you arrive! If you need sheets/pillows initially, I got those two. Also, a big closet. Essentially it is just a charming apartment, hardwood floors, lots of windows/sunlight. I can send along a video of my partner doing a walk-thru the day we moved in and were still awaiting our furniture, for whoever is interested. Lastly, I’ll be in my 3rd/last year come fall and will be moving out in May of 2026 so whoever takes over this room will essentially be set up for the rest of the time you’re in Blacksburg and assuming you dig it, can resign the lease each year.

About me:
I will mostly be locked in all next year as I work on my thesis. All that to say, I won’t really be in party mode, but I do hang with my cohort. If I’m not at school, or gym/hiking, I will probably be in my room reading, or watching bball on the tv. I’m clean and communicative, pure chill vibes here, I’d expect the same. I’m originally from FL but have lived all over, NYC for a decade, Montana before this. Musician. Did theater for a while in NYC. I also love playwriting though mostly focused on prose since I’ve been here. Wouldn’t go so far as to pretentiously refer to myself as a cinephile but I LOVE film. What else…LGBTQ+ friendly, all races, ethnicities, etc. are completely welcome.

*Monthly bills work out to about $100ea and that’s electric, water, heat, gas, internet. You would be signing on to your own ½ of the lease with the property management company.

*Strong preference given to whoever can move in asap which would be mid-May or June 1st.
